Direct flights land at San Juan's international airport (SJU) from most major U.S. cities. Aim to arrive by early afternoon so the island hop is relaxed, not rushed.

Vieques Air Link and Air Flamenco fly to Vieques (VQS) from Isla Grande airport (SIG) — a ten-minute taxi from SJU, and honestly the easiest boarding you'll ever do: a small terminal, no TSA lines, walk out to the plane. Cape Air flies from SJU itself if you'd rather not change airports. Either way it's a 20–30 minute hop over turquoise water that many guests call the highlight of the trip. Book seats in advance; luggage allowances are smaller than mainline flights.
The passenger ferry runs from Ceiba to Isabel Segunda on Vieques. Ceiba is roughly an hour by taxi or rental car from SJU, and the crossing itself takes about 30–45 minutes. It's the budget-friendly route — reserve tickets online ahead of time, especially on weekends and holidays.
You'll want a vehicle — a Jeep or similar is the island standard, and it opens up the wild beaches. Island rental fleets are small, so book your car as early as your flights. Taxis exist but are limited; ride-share apps don't operate here.

High season runs December through April — dry, breezy, and perfect. Summer is warmer, greener, and quieter. The bioluminescent bay — the brightest in the world — is best around the new moon, worth checking when you pick your dates.
